TODAY'S RACE CARDS AT RIPON

The good to firm ground at the North Yorkshire course on Friday set the stage for a 6-race card, with 57 runners providing a rich afternoon of flat-racing action from the opening event onwards. Red Spells Danger got home in the 17:45. The 18:15 spoils went to Masaban at 4.00, who ran out the winner gamely.

The competitive nature of the meeting was further underlined in the mid-card. Vince L'amour took the honours at 7.00 to take the 18:45. At 19:15, U Sure Do (7.00) landed the spoils.

The remaining races at Ripon provided a clean finish to the afternoon's programme. Star Cast came home in front to claim the 19:45 prize at 5.50. The 20:15 was won by Vietnorm (13.00). Overall, Friday's card at Ripon amounted to a thoroughly professional afternoon of flat racing in which consistency of form was the primary theme.
